For our client based in the Fribourg area, we are looking for a Senior Financial Controller. The company enjoys an international reputation and values technical expertise and innovation.
This position involves occasional international travel. The company is easily accessible by car or public transport.



Your responsibilities at your new employer
  • Manage financial accounting activities across all legal entities, including global intercompany transactions and consolidation for financial closing.
  • Lead continuous productivity enhancements and drive operational excellence in line with established benchmarks.
  • Play a crucial role in facilitating a seamless integration process in collaboration with the Group CFO and Group Controller.
  • Oversee and mentor a team of three accountants, fostering a positive work environment and promoting cross-training and professional development.
  • Supervise the monthly closing process for three newly acquired companies.
  • Provide robust support during the post-due diligence phase to review current financial statements and valuation methods, including inventory assessment.
  • Maintain and report on Profit & Loss, Balance Sheets, and Cash Flow statements, with a strong focus on cash availability and process optimization.
  • Gather, analyze, and report financial data to support strategic decision-making; conduct variance analysis on sales, margins, operational costs, and overheads; identify key drivers and deliver insightful commentary.
  • Audit financial transactions and documents to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Proactively engage with functional areas to ensure precise accounting and financial reporting within deadlines, providing feedback to the Group CFO and Group Controller on key drivers of deviations.
  • Implement ongoing process improvements to enhance efficiency and address business or operational changes.
  • Ensure adherence to internal accounting policies and procedures, performing all assigned internal controls in a timely manner.

What you offer to your new employer
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Management.
  • 5-10 years of experience in finance, accounting, or controlling roles.
  • Preferred experience in industrial companies and proven international exposure.
  • Fluent in German and English is essential; proficiency in French is desirable.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, including pivot tables and complex functions.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, with flexibility and adaptability to different cultures.
  • Self-motivated and deadline-driven, with a high degree of independence.
  • Critical thinker with the ability to identify and articulate issues, and propose effective solutions.
